Speaker:

  • Eric Finkelstein

It can be overwhelming to make healthcare decisions for ourselves or to make for someone who can no longer make his or her own decisions. It is even more difficult if there is no written or verbal guidance. How do you decide what type of care is right and financially viable for you or for your loved ones?

This talk will provide you with an understanding of decision-making around end-of-life choices based on our Singapore studies. We will present results from a series of studies that showed the preferences and willingness-to-pay (WTP) for various end-of-life treatment options of older adults, caregivers, doctors and advanced cancer patients in Singapore. Understanding financial implications may hopefully help you in making more informed decision.
